Acceleration in the global share of clean energy is crucial. India is emerging as a major manufacturing hub in this domain. The Atmanirbhar initiative of the government is an opportunity to make this happen. Significant policy changes are being adopted to support the transition to clean energy at various levels. We at CSIR-NCL focusing on different projects including hydrogen and rechargeable batteries. It will help understand the end-to-end hydrogen value chain with detailed knowledge of techno-economics, business opportunities, and technological advances in fuel cells for mobility, power, and heating applications; a deep understanding of the fundamental science behind transport phenomena and reaction engineering in PEM fuel cells. It will also help understand projections of India’s energy growth trajectory juxtaposed against the global scenario, particularly in the post-Covid situation, strategic understanding of the economics of new energy technology options, CO2 mitigation, critical role of and opportunities for science-technology-innovation.
