Organometallic & Sustainable Catalysis groups at the Organic Chemistry Division, CSIR-NCL focuses on organometallic synthesis, sustainable homogeneous catalysis and mechanistic understanding. It involves the design and development of novel transition metal complex that display specific and targeted catalytic applications such as C–H functionalization, asymmetric hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, sustainable chemical synthesis, conversion of CO2 to value-added products. As part of this research stream, we are also exploring hydrogen production from various feedstocks, the functionalization or upcycling of plastic waste into value-added chemicals, and the development of photo- and electro-catalytic transformations with direct relevance to industrial applications. Committed to sustainability, the team also focus on developing environmentally friendly and efficient catalytic protocols for multistep synthesis of APIs and agrochemicals, and real-world industrial application.
