The entomology section of the organic chemistry division is actively involved in exploring how Arthropods, e.g., insect pests interact with their environment and each other through chemical signals. Whether in dense tropical forests or agricultural landscapes, chemical signals are at the heart of how insects survive and thrive. This provides an opportunity to innovate to solve real-world challenges associated with these insects such as assisting integrated pest management (IPM) to pollination enhancement and biodiversity conservation. By understanding insect chemical ecology, we try to develop more sustainable, targeted, and ecologically sound solutions i.e., Lure/Trap to protect crops, control disease vectors, and support biodiversity. We are extensively working with various Agrochemical industries of India on developing Household Insect Pests such Mosquito Repellents, and Other Crop Pests and its Chemical & Biocontrol.
