Green Hydrogen

Overview

Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyzer (AEMWE) is an emerging technology for electrochemical water splitting that uses an anion exchange membrane (AEM) to facilitate the movement of hydroxide ions (OH?) within the electrolyte. This technology is seen as a promising alternative to conventional electrolyzers, such as alkaline and proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers, as it combines the benefits of these systems while overcoming some of their challenges. As AEMWE is a developing technology, efforts are focused on advancing the understanding of its fundamental electrochemistry, improving the electrode-electrolyte interface, and developing electrocatalysts for alternative water oxidation, stack designing to enhance the AEMWE system efficiency.
