Structural biology group focuses on the structure-function study of various proteins for protein engineering to use in different applications. One set of proteins studied are plant lectins and plant protein protease and amylase inhibitors. The other set of proteins studied are those belonging to N-terminal nucleophile hydrolase superfamily. A third initiative is the study of multi-protein complexes of mitochondria. This group also carries out data-mining and analysis, molecular modeling and dynamics studies of relevant proteins to complement and extrapolate experimental results.
