The central theme of research in the Complex Fluids & Polymer Engineering (CFPE) & polymer processing (PPC) groups is to understand mechanistically and quantitatively the links between the microstructure of complex fluids and their fluid and solid-state properties. On the one hand the microstructure is linked to the kinetics and thermodynamics of structure formation, while on the other hand it is linked to the performance of materials and products.
